Some partnerships simply make sense. Convivio Café at The Alliance Center is one of them—not only because of our shared commitment to environmental responsibility, but because of what this partnership makes possible: more opportunities for people to gather, connect, and build relationships in the place where they already come together to work toward a more inclusive, regenerative future.
Now open inside The Alliance Center, Convivio brings that vision to life in a tangible way—creating a welcoming space where coffee becomes a catalyst for conversation and community.
At its heart, Convivio Café is built around the idea of gathering. The name comes from the Guatemalan tradition of a convivio—a get-together where everyone is welcome. That spirit mirrors what has long defined The Alliance Center: a shared home for mission-driven people and a place where proximity sparks collaboration. When people have natural places to pause, meet, and reconnect, stronger ideas—and stronger communities—follow.
That commitment to connection extends far beyond the café counter. Convivio has structured its business around relationships, beginning with how its coffee is sourced. Every bean is grown, processed, roasted, and packaged in Guatemala—an approach known as roasting at origin. In a conventional coffee supply chain, producing countries complete most of the labor yet receive only a small share of the profit. By keeping more of the value chain in-country, Convivio helps ensure that more economic benefit remains within the communities that make the coffee possible.
Those commitments are deeply personal for the Convivio team. Convivio staff know the farmers they partner with by name—often their families as well—creating transparency and trust at every stage, from cupping to roasting to packing. The company also pays beyond Fair Trade prices so farmers can invest in sustainable agricultural practices and stronger living conditions. Their farmer-roaster partner in Guatemala City, Gento, reinvests 10% of profits into community programs where the coffee is grown, extending the impact well beyond a single harvest.
This is regeneration in practice: businesses built on long-term relationships, shared prosperity, and care for the communities they touch. With Convivio Café now part of The Alliance Center, an ecosystem already rooted in collaboration grows even stronger—supported by an everyday gathering place where conversations begin, partnerships take shape, and community continues to grow.
