Songs for a Sacred Earth: An Earth Week Gathering of Music, Story, and Connection

Flyer: Songs for a Sacred EarthWhat does it sound like to care for the Earth?

During Earth Week, we are invited to reflect on our relationship with the planet through intention, connection, and action. Climate work often (and understandably) centers urgency and technical solutions. This event aims to create the needed space and time to reconnect with what sustains that work.

On April 23, Songs for a Sacred Earth will bring together musicians, spiritual practitioners, and community members for an evening of song, story, and shared reflection at The Alliance Center.

This gathering is rooted in a simple idea: the earth is made up of interconnected systems, and so are we.  Each of us brings different traditions and ways of knowing. Together, these shape how we care for the Earth and build community. This is the foundation of our civic life.

At The Alliance Center, we see civic space as a place where culture, community, spirit, and action come together. Songs for a Sacred Earth invites all of us to come together in that shared space.

A Different Kind of Earth Week Gathering

Songs for a Sacred Earth is an immersive experience designed to create space for listening, connection, and collective imagination. Throughout the evening, practitioners from diverse traditions will share offerings that reflect how their communities understand our relationship to land, responsibility, and ecological care. Through music and storytelling, participants experience climate connection in an embodied and human way.

Together, we’ll explore questions like:

  • How do our traditions teach us to relate to the Earth?
  • What stories and songs sustain us in times of uncertainty?
  • What becomes possible when we gather across differences to listen and learn from one another?

Why Music, Why Now?

Movements need culture.

Music shapes collective identity, sustains community, and carries stories of resilience and care. In the context of climate work, it creates a way to connect intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually.

A Space for Sacred and Secular to Meet

Co-presented by Colorado Jewish Climate Action, Iliff School of Theology, and the Alliance for Collective Action, this gathering brings together voices from across faith, spiritual, and civic communities.

Hosted at The Alliance Center, the event brings sacred traditions and secular climate work into shared space, creating opportunities for connection and collaboration.
