Colorado Climate Week Event | Connecting Colorado: Rural, Urban, and Ancient Perspectives

March 30 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Don’t miss this vital, life-giving dialogue during Colorado Climate Week! Dr. Heidi Steltzer, founder of the Center for Earth Theology, and Richard Sherman, founder of Animas and Four Corners Digital, are co-hosting this session to create space for connection, meaning-making, and a new orientation for rural, urban, and ancient connectedness.

About the event:
In the rural regions of Colorado, a lot of climate action is taking place. We can’t not do this work. Our livelihoods and well-being depend on it. We talk and act to manage for water availability, for wildfire risk to our homes, for dust mitigation and restoring lands, for alternatives to fossil fuels, and for protecting places we recreate and hope others will too.

Yet, the perception is often that folks who live rural don’t yet get climate change. Aren’t taking action. We’d like to suggest that the missing element is relationship. Relationship between urban and rural people in Colorado. Knowing and trusting one another through deep and meaningful connections. What could shift if we invest in this? In people and relationships as we strive for something even better than a less warm planet. As we strive for happiness aka statewide and nationwide flourishing.
