Supporting Community Climate Action Plans
We recognize the importance of empowering local governments to take action against climate change. Increased state support is essential for the development and implementation of effective Community Climate Action Plans that align with Colorado’s GHG Pollution Reduction Roadmap 2.0.
Halting Oil and Gas Expansion
To meet emission reduction goals, we advocate against further expansion of oil and gas development. Our policy recommendations include phasing out new permits for oil and gas development by 2030 and prioritizing renewable energy projects in affected communities.
Implementing Prescribed Fires
Recognizing the benefits of prescribed fires, we support the implementation of key recommendations from the Colorado Prescribed Fire Council Steering Board. This includes increasing funding for fire prevention and control, as well as advocating for liability protection for escaped prescribed fires.
